ExxonMobil has a long-standing tradition of investing in the community. In 2010, Exxon Mobil Corporation, its divisions and affiliates, including XTO Energy Inc., and the ExxonMobil Foundation provided a combined $199 million in contributions worldwide. Wherever we do business, we put our energies into improving the quality of life of our neighbours and their communities. We have always considered this an important part of our responsibility as a good corporate citizen.
In the UK last year we invested over £1.8 million on community projects and initiatives. We give special focus to supporting the neighbourhoods around our key business locations.
As a science and knowledge based company, the primary focus of our education programme is supporting and improving mathematics, science and engineering education.
Our volunteering programme has been enthusiastically supported for many years by our employees. We provide grants to charities and community organisations where our employees and their families serve as volunteers.
ExxonMobil has a long-standing history of environment-related community work. We encourage the involvement of local people in activities aimed at improving their local environment, maximising energy efficiency and managing waste through recycling.
By investing in the neighbourhoods where we operate and by creating jobs, we are helping to develop prosperous, stable communities that are not only good places in which to do business, but also good places for our employees, their families and our neighbours to live
Safety is the top priority in all our operations and this ethos is carried over into our community activities.
