ExxonMobil has been the sole proprietor of the Advanced Elastomer Systems (AES) plant at Newport in Wales since 2002. The plant specialises in the production of soft touch plastics that are widely used in the automotive industry under the Santoprene™ brand. A major investment programme is currently underway at AES to double the site’s production capacity, which has also led to the creation of more than 30 jobs.
