Esso and Nectar to launch new loyalty partnership

LEATHERHEAD, Surrey – Esso and Nectar today announce that from June 2019, customers filling up at participating Esso-branded service stations will be able to earn Nectar points on their purchases.
  • From June 2019 Esso will launch a new loyalty offering with Nectar allowing customers to collect Nectar points on purchases at Esso service stations*
  • Nectar is the UK’s largest loyalty programme with nearly 20 million collectors, rewarding 36 swipes a second

Nectar is the UK’s leading loyalty programme with nearly 20 million members and hundreds of brands to choose from, bringing members highly digital and personalised rewards.

The new partnership is a further step forward in the evolution of the Esso offer, which has already brought improved forecourts, quality Esso Synergy fuels and payment for fuel using the Esso App for a smoother onsite experience.

“Our customers are our number one priority, so we’re very excited to be launching the Esso Nectar partnership, which will allow us to increase the ways in which we can reward their trips to Esso sites,” comments David Chilton, Esso Global Loyalty Programmes Manager. “The launch of Esso Nectar will enable us to continue to develop our loyalty offer in step with our customer’s needs.”

James Moir, Managing Director of Nectar, added: “We’re pleased to be welcoming Esso on board the Nectar scheme as of next year. Nectar cardholders will be able to turn their fuel into money off their weekly shop, as well as enjoying hundreds of other rewards that Nectar has to offer.”

Patrick Rutherford, Esso UK Retail Sales Manager, explains: “A key benefit of the new partnership will be the provision of new and varied loyalty incentives for Esso consumers on the forecourts and convenience stores of their local Esso Sites. The flexibility of the Esso Nectar programme will give our Esso-Branded Wholesalers the chance to better understand and engage with customers, giving them more reasons to choose Esso.”

Esso Nectar will offer customers the ability to collect Nectar points at Esso-branded sites when making purchases in store, or through the new Esso App. Customers can use the Nectar app to easily access their points balance and explore up to date, personalised offers. Full details of the Esso Nectar offer will form part of a separate announcement.
