Celebrating 30 years without a 'Worse than First Aid'

Far from a piece of cake, our Lubricants Process Team celebrated their remarkable feat of 30 years without a Worse than First Aid (WTFA) injury last week.

This achievement from the team who are part of the world renowned Mobil Lubricants is a demonstration of their unwavering commitment to safety, and a result of a culture of teamwork that has been nurtured from the beginning.

Members of the team were congratulated by our Senior Leadership Team, in addition to Erik Van Beek, Regional Director for Europe and Middle East at ExxonMobil Product Solutions, who was present to ceremonially cut the cake and award the group with a celebratory plaque.

Incredibly, this milestone equates to more than 1.5 million hours across the lubricants shift positions.

This does not come through luck, but through a commitment and constant attention to working safely as individuals and as a team!

Speaking on the amazing landmark attainted by the team and its predecessors, Matthew Chadwick, Process Operations Supervisor said:

“Safety is at the heart of everything we do at Fawley and therefore the Lubricants Process team are extremely proud of their personal safety record having achieved more than 30 years without a WTFA injury.

Whenever a new trainee joins the lubricants process team the expectation on our safety standards is set and we explain to them the legacy that they have inherited.

It then becomes the whole team’s responsibility to continue to deliver safe performance day in day out such that we can continue on our path to the next safety milestones!”
