A qualified Chemical Engineer, Joel’s experience extends across engineering and technical roles, operations, and commercial and planning positions.

Joel joins Fawley at an exciting time in its history, with a major maintenance and upgrade programme recently completed, a new £800m Low Sulphur Diesel plant on schedule for start-up shortly, and work continuing on the potential for future lower emission operations and products.

Commenting on his appointment, Joel said: ‘’For more than 70 years, Fawley has stood as a cornerstone of petrochemicals in the UK, producing the vital fuels, lubricants and chemicals that we use every day.

‘’This is a pivotal and exciting time for the site, with a number of major investments and the potential opportunities emerging from the energy transition positioning us well for success.

‘’Change is not new to Fawley. As the needs of society, regulations and technology have evolved over the years, so too has our product portfolio and it will continue to do so.

‘’I know that operating the UK’s biggest complex is never without its challenges, but we have an incredibly skilled and dedicated team whose experience will ensure safe and reliable operations remain our priority.

‘’I am up for the challenge, and look forward to being part of Fawley’s bright future.’’
