Staying well in times of change

In February and again earlier this month, ExxonMobil employees were invited to join a virtual presentation on mental health and wellbeing led by Dr Sade Adenekan, Lead Occupational Physician and Assistant UK MOH (Medicine & Occupational Health) Manager based at Leatherhead. It was organised in collaboration with the Leatherhead SSHE Committee as part of its Safety Talks Programme and was open to all UK staff.

There were three sessions that took place in total via Zoom with over 400 attendees joining from sites across the UK.  The talk looked at organisation change and explored issues around managing stress in the workplace, with a focus on identification and early intervention.  It was guided by the MOH document “Staying Physically & Mentally Well During Times of Change” written by Dr Mark Jacklin, UK MOH Manager. 

Promoting emotional resilience and mental health remains a pertinent topic in both the UK and overseas, with a number of initiatives and health promotion programmes being highlighted in both the media and also within ExxonMobil, as part of the Culture of Health Programme.   Tips and hints to help people whilst working from home were also covered in the presentation which was well received by those in attendance.

ExxonMobil launches Low Carbon Solutions business

ExxonMobil Fawley supports local community groups

Families Matter, a charity offering support to a wide range of people across the Hythe and Waterside area of Southampton, has been given a welcome boost with a £1,750 contribution from ExxonMobil Fawley. The funds will help support a Women’s Wellbeing Group, ‘Hythe Huddle’ and ‘the Memory Group’, which together provide regular support to around 70 households.
