The recent sight of long queues at multiple service stations across the country is thankfully abating, but it has been an exceptionally busy time for our UK fuels team, Law, P&GA and SSHE as we have worked to maintain supplies of fuel, minimise the impact on consumers and help keep the country moving. 

ExxonMobil increases involvement with Scotland's Acorn CCS project

ExxonMobil has increased its involvement in the proposed Acorn carbon capture project in Scotland by signing an Expression of Interest to capture, transport and store CO2 from its Fife Ethylene Plant.

Results improve in the Second Quarter

The corporation announced better than expected news when it reported our second quarter 2021 earnings of $4.7 billion earlier this summer. Higher oil and gas demand and the best-ever quarterly performance in the Chemicals business helped turn around the results, which surpassed analyst forecasts. 

ExxonMobil joins discussions about large scale carbon capture hubs

ExxonMobil is joining collaborative industry discussions in the UK, Europe and US around the creation of carbon capture and storage (CCS) hub concepts, which if proven successful, could collectively capture millions of tonnes of CO2 per year globally. 

STEM initiative is a global winner

Congratulation to Eddie Henbury, Cara Mansbridge, Alice Smith and Angharad Vaughan from Fawley who have all been recognised with an award for their work to keep youngsters engaged in educational activities during the COVID-19 lockdowns. 

Les completes 50 years with ExxonMobil

When a young Les Morton joined Exxon on 2 September 1971 to train as a marine engineer, he could never have foreseen a 50-year career ahead of him. Half a century later and Les is saying farewell to the Company that had enabled him to travel the world and drive-up safety standards across the marine industry. 

Planning approval granted for FEP Enclosed Ground Flare

Our team at Fife Ethylene Plant (FEP) has secured planning approval for a new Enclosed Ground Flare (EGF) at the site. Council planners granted permission for its installation after months of development work by technical experts at Mossmorran. 

Fawley brings the bounce back to play sessions

Affordable play sessions for children will have an extra bit of bounce after ExxonMobil Fawley made a £1,500 contribution towards the purchase of a new inflatable for the Gang Warily Recreation Centre in Fawley. 

Fife safety performance raises thousands for charities

Excellent safety standards during ExxonMobil's recent £140m plant upgrade at Mossmorran have raised £15,000 for three charities. Fife Gingerbread, Hearts and Minds and Sullivan's Heroes will each receive £5,000 towards projects in the local community.

Long Service Awards

Congratulations to everyone who has received Long Service Awards during August and September. During this period there were 83 recipients - including Les Morton who has served an incredible 50 years, and five others who have been with us for 40 years!
