Back in 1981 the big news of the day was the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer, while shoppers were paying 20p for a pint of milk. It was also a landmark year for four teenagers who were embarking on their careers at the ExxonMobil Fawley facility after being successful in securing sought-after apprenticeships. This year marks an amazing 40 years’ service for Andy Gates, Mark Sellwood, Dave Bradley and Phil Mortimore.

To celebrate the landmark 70th anniversary of ExxonMobil Fawley – the Esso Refinery as it was then – we have produced a special fact-packed commemorative 68-page book. Our facility continues to play a hugely important part in our daily lives, the economy, and as a major employer and good neighbour. Excited youngsters from Hythe Sea Scouts have been trying out the latest craze of paddle boarding thanks for a contribution from ExxonMobil Fawley.
The Sea Scouts have also thanked ExxonMobil Fawley for helping them to repair a leaking roof at their Hythe headquarters.




The New Forest National Park remains one of the few places in England where the ancient tradition of commoning is still widely practised.
Commoners have been grazing their animals on the open Forest since before the Norman Conquest in 1066, helping create and maintain the landscape and rare wildlife which makes the New Forest so special.

A New Forest charity has thanked ExxonMobil Fawley for its contribution towards the launch of a new pilot scheme aimed at helping people in need to access its vital services.

Three vital community support groups have been given a welcome boost with a £1,750 contribution from ExxonMobil Fawley. Families Matter is a small charity based at Cornerstone Hythe United Reformed Church offering support to a wide range of people across the Waterside area.
